      Southwest Airlines Pilots Union Overwhelmingly Votes To Authorize Strike

      After 1,163 days of direct negotiations and a rapid response by SWAPA members, votes are overwhelmingly in support of the authorization of a strike. Southwest Airlines, the leading US low-cost carrier, is being served notice that the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) union has voted overwhelmingly in favor of a strike authorization.

      United Airlines reaches contracts with better pay for 30,000 ground workers

      March 29 (Reuters) - United Airlines Holdings Inc (UAL.O) CEO Scott Kirby said on Wednesday the carrier has reached an agreement in principle with a workers union over new contracts that include higher wages for its nearly 30,000 ground workers. Shares of the airline rose 2.1% in afternoon trade.

      American Airlines Cuts Nearly 50,000 Flights From Summer Schedule

      American Airlines has cut almost 50,000 flights from its summer schedule, with June and July being the most affected months. According to the airline, this is standard as it finalizes schedules closer to the upcoming season.

      The attendance arbitration is still hanging out there. They are now expecting a mid-May decision. My hope is for a positive award.
